About

A little bit about me and this project:

I, the author of this blog, am not a medical professional and nothing written on this site is intended to be taken as medical advice. At the moment I am not financially incentivized in any way to create this project. I have a formal educational background in mechanical and biomedical engineering and an ever-growing informal educational background in nutritional science.

I am someone with a deep personal connection to this topic and a passion for research and education. I, like many of you, have spent years suffering from health ailments that countless doctors, exams, prescription drugs, and a surgical procedure could not find an answer to. My own personal research brought me to drastically change my diet which resulted in a nearly complete elimination of my health ailments. These include: chronic daily headache, migraines, allergies, brain fog, and joint pain.

I am currently eating an animal-based diet (with macronutrient targets of 70% fat (mostly saturated), 30% protein) composed entirely of eggs, fish, dairy, and fresh skeletal meat from cows, pigs, chicken and lamb.

Although my personal research thus far has led me to believe that an animal based diet is both optimal and species-appropriate for humans and this diet is currently working for me, I am not certain that my conclusion is correct. In fact, current standard medical belief would argue that an animal-based diet is detrimental to my health long term. I do plan to continue eating this way until I either stop benefiting from it or my research (all documented on this site) leads me to believe that there is a more optimal diet that will keep me healthier for longer. If this blog is never read by another soul, it will at the very least be a documentation of my personal journey to discover the best diet for me (and likely most humans) to eat for the rest of my life.

Hello and welcome to the Optimal Human Diet blog. This is a personal passion project of mine to completely reexamine everything that has been learned about human nutrition and metabolism; it's a chance to take a step back from the currently held beliefs in the human nutrition space and to answer the following question from a completely fresh perspective: What is the optimal species-appropriate diet for humans and how is our health impacted when we deviate from this diet? I aim to answer this question using the abundance of information we have available in this "information age" across a spectrum of fields (anatomy, physiology, nutrition, anthropology, archaeology, biochemistry, and more), but from a fresh perspective where I must challenge all currently held beliefs before accepting them as truth.  My inspiration for this project is two-fold: 1) Myself and millions of others have found relief, remission, and resolve from health ailments and chronic conditions just by chan...
